spring is here...but its not really
so if you were inside a shopping centre right now , you'd be forgiven for thinking its the middle of summer. while we all have the 'january blues' because the weather is still cold and shite, retailers are leading us to believe that 'Spring has Sprung' which it most certainly has not. I was told that it will technically be spring in february, but I am not buying that either. i think the seasons are all muddled in ireland. people think it is the exact opposite of the southern hemisphere, but I have always known february in aus to still be summer- in fact, its one of our hottest months. so, if you ask me, its still winter for another month over here in ireland. this also makes sense because august and september are actually the most consistantly pleasant irish months. anyway, enough of my whinging. my point is, actually, that the spring trends are instore. we all want to buy these pretty things don't we? so we need to work out ways to wear them now and to wear them later. i have put together a few looks from my fave high-street stores. when summer comes, you can remove the chunky knits and tights and replace with sandals and light scarves.

High Fashion or Teenage Emo?

I am loving the trend of pastel colours in blonde hair at the moment. No, its nothing new, but I think I have finally got my head around it being fashionable as opposed to super- 90's. Whenever I saw an image of someone with a pastel wash through, I pictured myself perched on the kitchen bench in my early teens, putting food colouring in my hair...only to go for a swim and have it all wash out.
So I have it in my head that I want some pastel pink...on my head! But I am concerned. I am reasonably fair-skinned(depending on whether or not I have fake-tan on) and freckly. At the moment I have ashy blonde highlights with medium brown lowlights. I think that I can go slightly blonder and make the pink work. The real issue is my short hair. Will I look like a gay-teenage-emo-boy?? I think I boarderline that as it is, let alone if I add crazy colour.
So I am still undecided as to whether it will work for me, but I definately love it. Especially on Ellie Goulding. I just think its a fine line between picture 3(chanel fashion show) and pictures 1&2(emo kids).

2011
Like most people who attempt to blog, I got bored with the fact that nobody was reading my blog and gave up on it for a little while. Also, christmas is just such a busy time isn't it?
Life is back to normal again. Its a new year, and I have made resolutions. The main resolution is to do more of what I enjoy- and writing is one of those things. So when I sit in front of the telly with the laptop on my lap, I will stop spending all my time playing Spider Solitaire(to which I am strangely addicted) and start blogging, designing, sewing and learning.
